Fashion Week: Insights
With the unveiling that happened this past fashion month, we have broken some key elements that we saw on the runway. Read on to find out more, don’t be surprised there’re feminine twists this men’s fashion week. Also, we now have about 6 months to dream and save about that next winter piece we just absolutely need.

Heavily Padded
We shouldn’t be surprised that this has taken to the men’s runway with Loewe’s Fall 22 ultra puffy puffer jacket having a chokehold on the internet. We expect that this trend will only continue to increase in popularity between now till the launch of Fall Winter 2023. This is by far one of the most prominent trends, besides appearing as puffer jackets, Prada also decided to send a puffer long sleeved t-shirt and tank top down the runway. Other notable styles include Loewe’s puffer trench coat and Dior’s puffer vest that looks eerily similar to a floatation device.

High Waisted Silhouettes
Well, this has been a long forsaken silhouette in the menswear world, but a recent resurgence seems to have these designers literally pulling their pants up. These clean, fully tucked in looks were littered throughout fashion week, with brands like Prada showcasing men in matching long sleeved polo co-ords and Saint Laurent have tuxedo inspired look with an exaggerated bow and high waisted velvet pants.

Skirts
Are we stepping back into a Kilt era? The resurgence of skirts or kilts during this season was a surprise. WIth this element appearing repeatedly across many brands. Some styled them over pants while others sent skirts down the runway. Nonetheless, we are here for these skirt looks. Dior’s kilt look was made very memorable with Robert Pattinson wearing a skirt during their show, other brands like Gucci and Marine Serre also has some skirt looks for their show. It seems that the kilts or skirts might be coming back in end of this year.

Relaxed Tailoring
While tailoring is a mainstay in menswear, relaxed tailoring has made an appearance in formal tailoring receiving a more relaxed vibe through softer materials, newer silhouettes and relaxed styling. In Louis Gabriel Nouchi’s show, you’ll see flowy fabrics used and the full suit looks more approachable. Dior has remade the jacket into a top, with jacket lapels seen on a V Neck top styled with relaxed pants. Saint Laurent has also designed tuxedo inspired looks, with draped silk tops with a cummerbund styled with satin trousers, creating a relaxed yet polished look.

Exaggerated Shoulders
Strong shoulders has been prevalent in the womenswear show for the longest time with many brands using shoulder pads and oversized outerwear to play around with silhouettes. For menswear this season, they’ve included extremely oversized jackets, Gucci structurally enhanced one of their coats to be oversized and rounded, while Louis Gabriel Nouchi has taken it a step further by taking in the waist for their double breasted jacket.
