Cool Collabs: 2023
The year has only just begun, but fashion never sleeps and the collaborations this year are certainly intriguing. Here’re some of the collaborations we are looking forward to.

Haider Ackermann X Fila
While this is a surprising pairing, we aren’t all that surprised with how active h.a. has been lately. With him dressing Timothee Chalamet in the viral backless vest ensemble and the Jean Paul Gaulthier couture takeover. He has certainly been laying the groundwork for a possible revamp of his brand. Fila is a sound partner, with their overall climb to international popularity and their versatility creating many successful collaborations.
This collaboration, HA+F, is bold and dynamic. Featuring electric shades thrown in with the achromatic base palette, this athletic collection perfectly melds the Ackermann’s flare for tailoring with Fila’s sportswear sportswear nature through well cut jackets and utilitarian sports attire. The cohesiveness has extended throughout the looks even to footwear, where you’ll see new and experimental silhouettes. Expected to launch Spring 2023, we are looking forward to its market unveiling.

Collina Strada X Melissa
Another unlikely pairing hits the market for their Spring 2023 collection, this has launched and it’s like your childhood shoe dream come true. Collina Strada has always been a loud advocate for conscious fashion and Melissa shoes are all made from their patented 100% recyclable plastic, Melflex. With the added environmental thoughtful impact that both companies have, it really is a collaboration for this generation’s youth at heart.
Looking at the classic jelly sandals in these cute new sparkly colours really brings out the My Little Pony in us. Coupled with the new chunky silhouette that fits with the arty vibe that Collina Strada strives for, there is a style for each of their specific markets.

Dior Tears
Denim Tears has had a busy year, with their successful Levi’s and DSM collaborations, Tremaine Emory is not stopping there. He has scored a collaboration with Kim Jones at Dior’s symbolic Egypt Fall 2023 show. Showcasing their capsule collection, Dior Tears, at the Grand Egyptian Museum the night before the official show set in front the pyramids of Giza.
Combining Denim Tears’ laidback workwear silhouettes with Dior’s house codes, like the oblique motif and formal tailoring. These creative visionaries have managed to elicit a sort of varsity nostalgia with their combined vision and have created quite the coveted collection.

Y project X Jean Paul Gaultier
A continuation from this season’s collaboration featuring JPG’s signature trompe l’oeil style. Combining Martens’ signature style of asymmetry and deconstruction and adding in trompe l’oeil elements, creating the illusion of belts and screens on t-shirts and overlapping distressed logo details over top of mesh tops.
Following the success of their first collaboration, we are looking forward to this launch in Spring 2023

Yohji Yamamoto X Adidas
These two brands are no stranger to each other as their long standing relationship has been represented by Y-3. However, many were surprised to see Adidas platform sneakers walking down the runway during Yohji’s Spring 2023 show.
A unique silhouette especially in Adidas’ men’s line, the Superstars were given a new look with chunky cutout platforms and zippered boot look. As hypebeast as this collaboration might be, they have managed to create a wonderfully novel look for the iconic Superstar model.
