Y2K for Millennials
Are you a millennial and feeling left out of the Y2K hype? Looking everywhere and Gen Z style dominates? You were them once, remember? In the 00s and you were in your teens, that’s where the 2K is from. Wanting to stylishly incorporate some of their key styles without looking like you’re dressing too young, we’re here to help.

Cargo Pants
This is the best way to join their ranks, this is our equivalent of the parachute pants, especially if you do not prefer low rise bottoms, Cargos come in so many materials, if you would like a more casual vibe choose a technical fabric like nylon. If you’re looking for workwear, opt for materials like wool, cotton or silk. Want to make a statement? Choose a metallic or embellished design, the cargos have been reinterpreted for years now so there are many options out in the market.

Baby T-shirts
Frankly, I feel that this is just the Gen Z crop top. If you are looking for a layering piece this is perfect. Baby tees come in so many variations, the whole idea is that the t-shirt has to be extra tight and short on you. But it does cover the belly button, it usually stops at the hip, hence this came in trend when the low rise returned. Baby tees also tend to have some print, they make for great graphic t-shirts to style under jackets or on a casual day ditch your boring crop top and spice it up with a baby tee.

Mini Cardigans
You know when we were teens and we wanted to feel like an adult, you probably also stole your mum’s cardigan and styled it with a mini skirt. That is exactly what this is! Jacquemus has gone viral with his mini cardigan top that Jennie from Blackpink wore and sold it out. This is even better for you, because your mum might just have some vintage gem hiding in storage. These will look super cute over our millennial staple, a slip dress. Instead of powering up with an oversized jacket, femme it down with a mini cardigan.

Platform Shoes
I think chunky shoes are really generation-less, like who can claim an ongoing style right? But Y2K has really made platforms their boo. Any shoe comes in a platform now, from a thong sandal to sneakers, there are endless options when it comes to this trend. It’s so easy to incorporate this, take a shoe you wear to death, perhaps it’s a mary jane or a loafer, find a platform version of it and there you have a little bit of Y2K on you.
