
Designer Spotlight: Y/Project
If you adore Diesel, I think you will appreciate Y/Project as Glenn Martens is the creative director of both brands. Y/Project was founded in 2011 by the late Yohan Serfty. After her tragic passing, Glenn Martens was delegated as creative director in 2013. Martens creations’ are recognised for its sophisticated high fashion yet multifaceted. Its fun approach has landed the brand as one of the shortlisted designers for the LVMH prize.

Their collections constantly evokes emotions among the crowd, with many sharing the collection on Instagram stories with the caption: need. Its always pushing boundaries and constructing unorthodox designs. Construction and diversity is the backbone of the brand ethos. Martens loves the notion of creating sporty, elegance, and couture-esque pieces in a collection. A perfect example that Y/Project upholds would be melding masculinity and femininity in a piece of garment.

We see many brands preaching about diversity but does it transcend into action? Y/Project upholds multi-culturalism with people from different backgrounds working together. The brand continues to shape the Paris fashion scene and we look forward to the brand’s offerings every season.
