Trend Spotted: Utility Pockets
Did you know that the workwear-inspired trend surfaced in the 40s? It was actually not used for fashion but for the war fighters to sport during their work.
But fashion designers gathered inspiration from the utilitarians and produced utility-inspired garments. Cargo pants specifically were present in a myriad of shows, including Act N1, Coperni, Diesel, and Dion Lee. The utility trend is one that can be easily created. Taking cues from these stellar designers, the cargo pants was paired with waistcoat, corset or a matching jacket.

This utility trend is undoubtedly leaning towards masculine but we can tweak it into a more feminine vibe. Instead of cargo pants, opt for a cargo skirt/dress instead. See Blumarine, Beautiful People, and Coach; they incorporated a more feminine look by pairing a cargo skirt with a matching top.
Ultimately, the epitome of the utility ensemble is pockets. So to nail the look, pockets have to be your best friend. The more the merrier.
